Please sign the petition to stop construction of the nuclear power plant at Hamaoka, Japan.

The earthquake of 11 March 2011 reached a magnitude of 9.0, the highest ever recorded in Japan. The earthquake and resulting tsunami resulted in explosions in FUKUSHIMA daiichi nuclear power plant exposing untold numbers of people in Japan to the danger of exposure to radioactive substances.

In this time of national emergency, we try to do what we can do for the victims, including conserving energy and contributing to the relief effort. We also believe that people should be able to live their lives free of the fear of being exposed to radioactive substances – in Japan and elsewhere in the world.

It is predicted that a gigantic earthquake will occur in Shizuoka, where there is the HAMAOKA nuclear power plant. This plant must terminate operations, before this impending disaster.

ACTION 1

We therefore appeal to the Japanese government, power companies, local authorities in Japan, and to Japanese society at large, the following:

1.We call for an immediate termination of the operation of HAMAOKA Nuclear Power Plant.

2.We call for a concerted effort to promote and develop alternative energy sources that are clean and safe, with a view towards terminating the operation of all nuclear power plants in Japan.

3.We call for extensive co-operation with international organizations towards the abandoning of nuclear power and the development of alternative energy sources that are clean and safe.

We call for an immediate termination of the operation of HAMAOKA nuclear power plant.

Please join our activities for a world without the fear of radioactive substances. If you agree, we will include you in a petition to the Japanese government, electric power companies, local authorities in Japan and related companies (Your messages with title are shown on the web; Your names are kept secret.).

We will mail the information about activities of STOP! HAMAOKA nuclear power plant and related organization to your e-mail address, and will not use your data except for these activities.
