And not just my child, 10 more unlucky children who had not got an admission till now, were able to get an admission. First I succeeded in getting the arbitrary 2nd draw of lots of Queen Mary's School, Model Town postponed and get a fresh draw of lots ordered. The school was trying to give admission to children with 20 points ignoring those who had 30 points. In the fresh draw of lots, only 11 parents were present and none of them was lucky. But since the school had seats and was probably waiting to sell them, the parents persisted to give admission to those 11 parents and after involving the Education Department were successful. It did take some effort but with all your support and best wishes, it was made possible to teach the school a lesson that they cannot go about doing things as per their wish and will. I would like to put this as a victory for the entire parent community. The moral of the story is that we should fight for the right thing and hope for the best. Results are bound to come. I would also like to give special thanks to Shri Sumit Vohra who has constantly been working hard to support us in our endeavor. I would also like to thank Shri Ashok Aggarwal, Advocate for making this happen and Shri Sudhir Chhabra who was with me all that time. I would also urge all the parents to fight for their rights until the end. If anyone feels that there is something wrong being done by the school, just file an RTI and get all the relevant information. It is very simple.
