So, Pranab Mukherjee must have had a very good reason to give a secret undertaking to Mulayam Singh Yadav to help him in becoming the Prime Minister after the next Lok Sabha elections.

Subject: Why do Shiv Sena & Marxist Leaders support Pranab Mukherjee?
To:
Why do Shiv Sena & Marxist Leaders want Pranab Mukherjee as President?
Bal Thackeray has asked the MPs and MLAs of the Shiv Sena to vote for Pranab Mukherjee, the UPA candidate, in the presidential election. Why has he broken his solidarity with the BJP on the issue of the presidential election? It is crystal clear that the Bal Thackeray prefers Pranab Mukherjee as the President of India because Pranab Mukherjee is a Brahmin like Bal Thackeray. Such dogmatic Brahmin leaders just cannot give up their belief in casteism.
Most of the top leaders of Communist Party-Marxist are also Brahmins. The Brahmin leaders of the CPM can only be in favor of a fellow Brahmin like Pranab Mukherjee to become the President of India. For many decades, the Brahmin Marxist leaders have been fooling and deceiving their followers who are workers, farmers, Dalits, adivasis, or belong to the minorities.
By their decision to support Pranab Mukherjee in the presidential election, the Marxist leaders have clearly shown their hypocrisy and duplicity once more. The anti-people policies of the top Marxist leaders are the most important reasons why they got badly beaten in the West Bengal Assembly elections at the hands of the Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee. Many MPs and MLAs of the CPM are likely to challenge the decision of their Brahmin leaders to support Pranab Mukherjee in the presidential election.
There is a likelihood of a massive revolt and cross-voting by the tribal, Dalit, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist MPs and MLAs of many parties like the CPM, Shiv Sena, Congress Party, Janata Dal-United, Bahujan Samaj Party, Samajwadi Party, etc, in favor of Purno A Sangma, the independent candidate supported by the AIADMK, BJD, and some parties of the National Democratic Alliance, which includes the BJP.
In spite of being in the NDA, the extremely corrupt JDU leaders must have agreed to take massive bribes for promising their party's votes to Pranab Mukherjee in the presidential election. Like some other non-UPA members of the Electoral College who vote in the presidential election, the JDU MPs and MLAs are likely to sell their votes for large amounts of money. Who knows how much money will be spent by the Congress Party to buy the votes of MPs and MLAs belonging to the Opposition parties for getting Pranab Mukherjee elected to the post of President of India?
The leaders of the CPM, Shiv Sena, JDU, BSP and Samajwadi Party have betrayed their followers among the workers, farmers, Dalits, adivasis and other deprived classes and castes. They have sold the interests of the deprived classes and castes for the big bribes they will get for selling their votes to Pranab Mukherjee.
Many MPs and MLAs from lower castes, deprived classes and minorities are likely to revolt against the CPM, Shiv Sena, JDU, BSP and Samajwadi Party leaders and vote for P A Sangma. Some Muslim MPs and MLAs from even the Congress Party may revolt and vote for P A Sangma because the Congress leaders rejected the name of Vice President Hamid Ansari while selecting the UPA candidate for the presidential election. If he becomes President of India, P A Sangma will be the first tribal and first Christian to hold that post.
Threat from Jagan's YSR Congress
The MPs and MLAs of the imprisoned Jaganmohan Reddy's YSR Congress are likely to vote against Pranab Mukherjee. The Andhra Pradesh Congress is also likely to split again leading to defections on a large scale. Many of the AP Congress MPs and MLAs are likely to revolt against the Congress leaders to vote for P A Sangma. The defecting Congress MLAs can even bring down the Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh.
After the death of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy (YSR) in a helicopter crash, many Congress MLAs were in favor of Jagan becoming the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, as there was a big sympathy wave among the people of the state in favor of Jagan.
The top Congress leaders can never forgive Jagan because a rumor was spread after the death of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy that the helicopter crash in which he had died was caused by sabotage. There were even rumors that YSR had been murdered due a conspiracy hatched by his enemies, which belonged to his own Congress Party. The supporters of Jaganmohan Reddy might have spread the rumors after he was prevented from becoming the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
There cannot be any compromise between Jagan and the Congress Party now, as the top Congress leaders can never forgive Jagan's followers who have defamed them by charging them with the sabotage of the helicopter in which Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was killed. It was due to this reason that Jagan could never have been made the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh as the leader of the undivided Congress Party.
As the Congress leaders do not want Jagan to be released from prison on bail, the MPs and MLAs of his YSR Congress will vote for P A Sangma. Many MPs and MLAs of the AP Congress Party, who support Jagan secretly, will also most likely vote for P A Sangma.
Mulayam can be Prime Minister in 2014
For getting the support of the Samajwadi Party to become the President, Pranab Mukherjee must have given a secret undertaking to Mulayam Singh Yadav that he will be made the Prime Minister after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. As the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee will give the first preference to Mulayam Singh Yadav to become the next Prime Minister of India if the Samajwadi Party gets many seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and if Mulayam Singh Yadav can show his ability to form a coalition government at the Center with the help of allies.
By making Akhilesh Yadav the Chief Minister of UP some months back, his cunning father, known jokingly as Maulana Mulayam Singh Yadav, had already started positioning himself to become the Prime Minister of India after the Lok Sabha elections of 2014. With the massive backing of the Muslim and Dalit voters in the next Lok Sabha elections, Maulana Mulayam Singh Yadav may actually become the Prime Minister of India in 2014 by forming a coalition Government of Samajwadi Party, Communists and the other secular parties.
Pranab can take Revenge against Congress Leaders
After getting elected as the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee is not likely to act as Rubber Stamp of the UPA Government. Even as a former member of the Congress Party, there is no guarantee that he will favor the Congress Party after he gets the powers of the President. Though the powers of the President are limited, his decisions can make a lot of difference, as no single party has an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha.
Pranab Mukherjee can take revenge against the Congress leaders for not making him the Prime Minister of India, even though he was the most senior minister in the Union Cabinet after Indira Gandhi's murder, and also on later occasions, when Rajiv Gandhi, Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh were chosen for the Prime Minister's post.
For many times, Pranab Mukherjee had been bypassed and denied his rightful claims to the post of Prime Minister by the other Congress leaders. In spite of being the most qualified person for the post on a number of occasions, the failure to become the Prime Minister of India must still be rankling Pranab Mukherjee.
