Republic: campaigning for a democratic alternative to the monarchy
Dear Brian

This is just a quick reminder about the events we have planned for the royal wedding weekend.

I do hope you'll be able to make one or all of our events. The more people that come out to show their support, the stronger the message we send -  to the monarchy, to our politicians and to the people of Britain.

And if you can't make it to London, don't forget that volunteers have organised other events around the UK.

'Not the royal wedding' alternative street party
Friday April 29, from 11:30am
Red Lion Square, London, Near Holborn tube station

FREE ADMISSION

We've taken a 'traditional' royalist street party as our inspiration, but there will be one key difference - we'll be celebrating democracy and people-power rather than inherited privilege. Our street party will include delicious food provided by The London Particular café, live jazz from The Dave Chandler Quartet, Republic merchandise, magic, street performances and much more besides.

We're expecting a strong media presence at the party. The BBC, Sky, Channel 4 and a range of other broadcasters have said they're going to come down and are really keen to speak to our supporters. This a great opportunity to show your support for Republic - so don't miss out! Find out more.

Love Republic
Friday April 29, from 7:30pm
Borough Bar, 10-18 London Bridge Street, London SE1

Tickets £8

Republic is proud to host Love Republic, a night of top music and entertainment to conclude the "not the royal wedding" day in style. We've hired a bar right by London Bridge station for the occasion, and we've lined up a schedule of live music, a fundraising auction and some special surprises. Featuring live performances from hip-hop artist and DJ KMT and the undisputed king of the 'fat boogie blues' King Size Slim.

Tickets are strictly limited and must be purchased in advance. Find out more and buy your tickets today.

Convention of the Alliance of European Republican Movements
Saturday April 30, from 2pm
Directory of Social Change, 24 Stephenson Way, London NW1 2DP
FREE ADMISSION (registration required)

On the day after the wedding Republic will be joined by republicans from all the large European monarchies - Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway and Sweden - for the second Convention of the Alliance of European Republican Movements (AERM). Find out more and register.

Finally, I wanted to let you know that there's a feature on Republic in today's Independent on Sunday.

All the best
