Respected Sir, My kids are studying in a school at Chennai which is started last year under the CBSE syllabus. Until now, they haven't received any affiliation from the CBSE but they are continuing their normal operation. Upon enquiry regarding the CBSE approval, they are not giving us a proper answer. Sir, I would like to clarify that is it legal to run a school with CBSE syllabus without any approval from the concerned board? In addition to the above, I would like to clarify whether it is legal to collect the full year's fee (i.e. 24000 for class III and 27000 for class VII) in advance? Last year also they collected fee in advance and the reason they said was to avoid some of the applicant's. Sir, could you please clarify me whether they have the right to collect the full year's fee in advance or not. I got an information that there is an order from the honorable Supreme Court that nobody can collect the whole fee in advance. I tried to gather the details of this court order through the internet but I couldn't succeed. If you can please provide me the case number or the name of the parties to that case, I can easily get the details from the net. Is there any specific law to prevent the private schools from collecting the full year's school fee in advance? I would be very much obliged if you could please provide me with the above details. Thanking you for your kind attention to the above, Yours Sincerely SUBERS GEORGE MATHEW No. 176, 1st CROSS STREET HERITAGE HOMES, JAYENDRA NAGAR SEMBAKKAM ( TANBARAM - VELACHERRY MAIN ROAD) CHENNAI - 600073 Mobile - + 91 97 89 23 08 45 (Tamil Nadu Number) + 91 98 95 92 29 14 (Keral Number)
