 | Workshop on RTE Act with Lawyers at Alwar (Rajasthan) on Sunday 03 April 2011 - More than 60 lawyers, law teachers, panchayat members and social workers attended a day long workshop organised by Mr. Nur Mohd., Chief Coordinator, AMIED (NGO). interestingly, Alwar District Bar Association President also attended the workshop. Issues like arbitrary fee hike in private schools, admission of children belonging to disadvantaged group and economically weaker sections in the recognised private schools under 25% free-ship quota and improvement of the standard of education in State-run schools were discussed and deliberated upon. Most of the lawyers were found to be unaware of the provisions of the RTE Act, 2009 and other related laws. I strongly feel that such workshops are the need of the hour. |
