Bengali dalit poetics( and practice) is a sociological reality. It is a vibrant body of literary tradition handed down by ages. Dalits in West Bengal are unheard in the academic world for reasons beyond academics.Things should change fast as centre cannot hold back its biased stand.
I find Bengali dalit wrtings are as strong as any part of the country.It is social and litarary form of protest.Universities must give proper recognation to it and iclude texts(also in translations).Scholars should open up their mind and take research topics on the same and make their mark in the academic world.I personally know a few of them.I am enlightened by their thoughts and writings.
I take it asa true form of expression.
